From boring and bland to classic and elegant - this transformation started by stripping the original wood finish top of the buffet. The top was then stained "walnut" using a penetrating stain to accentuate the colour variances and wood grain pattern. The body of the buffet was then painted black and center points were highlighted using two shades of grey to create the look of a gradual fade. The entire finish was treated to create a slight crackle texture, giving the look of a vintage leather.
 
New antique nickel lions head pulls and matching drawer handles were installed on the doors and drawers. The original hinges were kept and treated with a gilding wax to upgrade the colour. 
 
The interiour cupboards and drawers of this buffet were left natural, cleaned and buffed with a conditioning oil to further protect the original finish.  The backs of the cupboard doors were painted black and dressed up using a vintage lace pattern in a metallic copper.

**The body of this buffet was sealed with 3 coats of highly durable urethane/acrylic topcoat in a "Satin" sheen. The wood top was sealed with 2 coats of urethane/acrylic topcoat, followed by 2 coats of high grade paste wax and then buffed for a hand-rubbed fine finish look.
