"TALOS"
This slate topped sofa table was given a rustic bronze makeover using metallic paints and waxes. To start the table was painted using a metallic paint in an antique bronze. Black distressing was hand painted around the edges for a tarnished metal look. The table skirting had a beautiful metal trim but the detailing was lost to the new finish, gold gilding wax was used to brighten the details in the trim as well as on the hardware and make them pop against the darker bronze.
 
The table top had a beautiful slate inlay that had been abused and was showing deep scratches and wear. The damage was sanded out of the stone and the entire top was resealed to refresh the colours and protect the slate.
 
The drawer interiours were refreshed with a good cleaning and some protective oil to moisturize the wood and extend its life. The slides were cleaned and waxed for easy gliding.
 
This table features a lower shelf that is perfect for beautiful baskets and extra storage and would look stunning in a front entry way but can also be used as a sofa table to complete your space and amp up your storage.

**This piece was sealed with 2 coats of highly durable urethane/acrylic topcoat in a semi-gloss finish making it durable enough for use in high traffic areas.
