This solid wood table was built by the James A. Cole Furniture Co. out of Ontario between 1922 - 1932 making it close to 100 years old! Fun Fact: In 1932 James A. Cole started making high quality coffins instead of furniture!
In keeping with the slightly farmhouse look this table lends with its gorgeous trestle style legs I decided to paint the base in a basil green milk paint. To accent all the gorgeous detailing and give a little oomph to the green the table legs were glazed in a dark antiquing brown. The finish on the table top was badly damaged and cracking so it was stripped and then painted in a rich metallic bronze with a slightly textured finish. The table top was sealed in a gloss urethane to maintain it's metallic shimmer.
This table would look stunning as a hallway table in a front entry way and can also be used to complete your space as a sofa table.
**The table top of this piece was sealed with 3 coats of highly durable urethane/acrylic topcoat in a semi-gloss and the base was sealed in 3 coats of the same product with a flat finish making this piece durable enough for use in high traffic areas.
